De ziekenhuissector is lang achterop gebleven, tussen gebrek aan middelen, tekort aan expertise en het ontbreken van prioriteit voor de uitdagingen. Terwijl die uitdagingen belangrijk zijn: in Frankrijk heeft de vereniging \"The Shift Project\" berekent dat de\ngezondheidssector verantwoordelijk is voor 8% van de totale nationale broeikasgasuitstoot. De uitstoot per onderdeel wordt gedetailleerd: energie en medische gassen (13%),\ngeneesmiddelen (29%), medical devices (21%), voeding (11%), transport van pati\u00ebnten,\nbezoekers en personeel (13%), afval en diensten (5%) en vaste activa \u2013 gebouwen (8%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gevraagd: expertise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De transformatie naar \"groene\"\nziekenhuizen gaat samen\nmet bewustwording van\nverbruik en uitstoot. In dit opzicht\nis de toe-eigening van de context\nen de ambities door de ziekenhuisteams merkwaardig. Het aantal\ninterne cellen samengesteld uit\nartsen, verpleegkundigen en alle\nziekenhuisberoepen die concreet\nwerken om onze ecologische voetafdruk te verminderen, is niet meer\nte tellen. Onder andere afval tri\u00ebren\nen verminderen, mobiliteitsgewoonten wijzigen, energieverbruik\nmatigen en verlichtingsstrategie\u00ebn staan in de meeste Belgische\nziekenhuizen op het programma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Een transformatie kan niet slagen,\nof zelfs niet opgestart worden, als\nde expertise ontbreekt. Ook daar\nblijven de ziekenhuizen niet bij de\npakken zitten. Nieuwe profielen\nontstaan terwijl universiteiten en\nhogescholen vormingsprogramma's opzetten opdat de reeds\nbestaande teams de nodige expertise zouden verwerven. . De ondernemingen, leveranciers van de\nziekenhuizen, passen zich ook aan.\nDe ziekenhuizen includeren steeds\nvaker duurzaamheidscriteria in hun aankoopprocessen. De ondernemingen zien hierin ook hun\nvoordeel. Zo voorspellen economisten een belangrijke toename\nvan de opdrachten voor leveringen\nen diensten voor het duurzame\nziekenhuis: meer dan 6% per jaar in\nde Verenigde Staten, bijvoorbeeld,\nen dat is heel wat meer dan de\neconomische groei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gevraagd: financi\u00eble middelen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De uitdaging blijft niettemin heel\ngroot. Terwijl de ziekenhuisfinanci\u00ebn leeggelopen uit de COVIDcrisis kwamen en de kosten voor\nenergie, water en afvalverwerking\nde pan uit swingen, blijft de vraag\nnaar de financiering van onze\ntransformatie onbeantwoord. Een\ndeel betreft uiteraard de evolutie\nvan de infrastructuren waarvoor de\ngewesten vandaag een stap vooruitzetten. De transformatie van het\ndagelijkse leven, met zijn gevolgen\nvoor het operationele budget van\nhet ziekenhuis, zal besparingen\nopleveren \u2026 na een investeringsfase waaraan vaak niet zal kunnen\nworden voldaan. De opstartkost\nvan nieuwe technologie\u00ebn beperkt\nnog te vaak het in de praktijk\nbrengen van goede idee\u00ebn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De doelstellingen zijn nochtans\nambitieus, op maat van de klimaatuitdagingen. In haar rapport\ndetailleert het Franse team van\n\"The Shift project\" het scenario van\neen vermindering van meer dan\n80% van de broeikasgasuitstoot\ntegen 2050. Om dat te bereiken\nzullen alle onderdelen van de\nuitstoot moeten bijdragen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In dit nummer stellen we u een\nreeks initiatieven voor die in Belgische ziekenhuizen lopen om een\nantwoord te bieden op de uitdaging van duurzaam ziekenhuis,\neen duizelingwekkende en veelzijdige uitdaging.
